Welcome to my website! I am a ceramic artist living and working in Houston, Texas.

My introduction to ceramics came in the early 90’s as a birthday present from my husband. We had recently moved to Washington, DC and were just getting settled in. Knowing that I had always been interested in pottery, he found a teaching studio, Hinckley Pottery, and signed me up for lessons. This was the gift that kept on giving. More than twenty years later I am still taking classes — now at the Glassell School of Art, the teaching institute of The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas.

After retiring from a career in marketing management in the environmental industry, I turned my passion for pottery from an avocation to a vocation and haven’t looked back. My sculptural work has been accepted in a number of area exhibitions. The pieces shown on the home page of this site were installed at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft for approximately six months as part of their Garden Project. A selection of my works are for sale at Impromptu, a small boutique near Rice Village in Houston. I have been quite active in ClayHouston and am currently serving as Vice President.

The accompanying photo was taken while I was doing a demo at a local Whole Foods Market Giving Day in support of Empty Bowls Houston which raises money to support the Houston Food Bank.
